Our Backgrounds
Gary Domer
Gary started in construction in high school. He worked for a local contractor, liked the way he ran his business, and Gary got to do both: the paperwork on one end and some field work on the other end.
While earning a Business Degree from San Diego State University, Gary started as a laborer, then completed the Union Apprenticeship Program, Carpenter's Union, and began learning the trade by working more in the field. He then moved to the office where he learned to both estimate and manage projects.
During the early years, Gary determined that he was better at the paperwork and managing the people than the actual construction part. Conversely, he also realized that some of his field guys were really good with wood, but not necessarily that good with people.
What’s It All About? Building Stuff – Efficiently, Honestly, and Inexpensively.
At Kelly Pacific Construction Company, we pride ourselves on:
- Doing really good work
- Being extremely efficient
- Making things easy for our clients
- Providing the best price possible
- Always being fair and honest
- Mitigating stress and hassles with permits
- Enabling everyone to be happy when a project is completed
While it’s crucial to deal with personnel, estimating and other details, it’s typically more fun to be out in the field building stuff and getting things done. We take a raw piece of land, then build a house or a commercial building on it that will be standing for a long time. It’s tremendously satisfying to us when it’s all finished and our clients can look at what we’ve done.
Our Process Details Keep Projects on Track.
Every construction project is built on dozens to hundreds of steps. Virtually every project has Change Orders for a window that’s different from what was originally recommended, switching out a kitchen sink, or knocking out a non-load-bearing wall. Keeping up-to-date on these changes can keep our projects moving ahead towards completion so there are no surprises.
Safety, First and Foremost.
Safety has always been an important issue at Kelly Pacific Construction Company. We pride ourselves on being cognizant of safety standards and avoiding injuries––especially when working with power tools, forklifts, cranes, and other heavy equipment. Today’s tools make it so much easier to use a drill on concrete screws than using a shooting power actuator with a recoil. It’s now safer all around.
